Norman’s son Thomas wrote the American classic for children, How to Eat Fried Worms, which became a major motion pictureAs a kid, Tommy moved from the affluent city of New Rochelle, New York, to West Arlington. He quickly became involved in dairy farming, hunting, and sports. He hayed the West Arlington meadows and honed his basketball skills on a plank floor in a hayloft. A bright, ambitious child, he had artistic talent. But it began to look like he would use his creative powers in a medium different than his father. He appeared in CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING IN 1948 as the boy in a brown plaid shirt.
